In Persian culture and belief, pomegranate is considered to be a sacred fruit and a fruit originated from paradise. Called “Anar” in Persian, Persians for long believed the fruit purifies the blood.

There is also a festival called ”Yalda” which pomegranate is one of the main elements for it, during the longest night of the year they eat pomegranate and nuts, reading old stories and poems, getting together with family and friends…
